Thrive Pancakes or Aebleskiver?

I love breakfast foods! Of all kinds and at anytime of the day.  Some days, after I get home from work, and haven't planned anything ahead of time I'll ask my guys if they want Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner? Then I'll make a meal that you might normally have during that time frame.  Last night was BREAKFAST.

Since we love pancakes and I love kitchen gadgets it was Aebleskiver night.  These can be sweet or savory.  Using Thrive 6 Grain Pancake Mix makes it even better.  The 6 grains consists of red wheat flakes, white wheat flakes, barley flakes, rye flakes, rolled oats, sunflower seeds. This is not your typical thick hard to eat "just because it's good for you" grain pancake mix, this is actually very good.  Vary reasonable priced as well!

I use this mix and add whipped egg whites to give it some more lightness when I'm doing a sweet version, and I don't bother if it is a savory filling. The egg whites are not necessary. Do what you like best.

Thrive Aebleskivers

3 Cups Thrive 6 Grain Pancake Mix
2 1/2 Cups Water
1 T Baking Powder (I learned this from Misty Marsh)
2 Egg Whites, whipped to soft peak stage

Blend the Mix and Baking Powder, then add the water mixing very well with a whisk or fork. Leave the batter to sit for 10 min while you whip the egg whites and organize whatever you would like to use for fillings.

After batter has rested carefully fold in the egg whites.

Make sure your Aebleskiver pan it medium hot.  A few drops of oil or a dab of butter should be added to each well for each batch.  I use butter for the sweet fillings.

Fill each well almost to the top with batter.

Then drop in a small amount of filling, usually about a teaspoon full.

Tonight I used Blackberry Jam (pictured right), Nutella, Thrive Ham Dices (hydrated) & Thrive Cheddar Cheese (hydrated). Noooo not all at the same time! You can use what ever your heart desires and you don't mind eating in the middle of a pancake puff.

Once they are done they can are ready to eat or you can dust them with powdered sugar, drizzle with syrup (maple, caramel, chocolate) or ??? Use your own creativity and enjoy!

Just a reminder .. anytime you buy Thrive Food buy the case (6 cans of the same product) you save an additional 5%! Makes breakfast night an even better deal.

If you don't have an Aebleskiver pan I don't see any reason you can't still make it fun!

I Love Brownies ......

Saturdays Webinar was fun. Technical glitches can do that, make things fun! An unwanted screen popped up in the middle of my slides, and of course I didn’t have my glasses on so I couldn’t see which box I was to CLICK to make it go away! Then about 1-2 minutes before what would have been the end, the internet connection decided for us .. it WAS the end. Such are the joys of Live Presentations. Actually it really was fun. When you have to ad lib and go with the flow you get to see how cool, calm and creative you really are.

For the “cooking” portion of the demonstration I made my Creamy Ham and Corn Chowder that I have previously posted the recipe for. It took about 1 minute to scoop and add to the simmering broth. In the 6-7 minutes it took to simmer and was ready to serve I showed the actually grocery store items it would have taken to make the same chowder. Meaning I had a head of celery, an onion, a hunk of ham, etc. Then I had the cutting board, the knife, potato peeler. Well you get the picture. I showed how much stuff and waste there could be from the original. Nothing wrong with that, I cook like that often. But when you want fast, easy, nutritious and NO MESS, well then, why not have a Thrive Kitchen?

What I do have to share with you tonight is the recipe for Peanut Butter Plop Brownies! I know I know, bear with me. I saw this recipes on a site I really really like, Crazy For Crust, and modified it to use our Thrive products. DELICIOUS!

When I was doing the demo I hadn’t decided what I would call them yet so I told everybody for the moment they were just Peanut Butter Plop Brownies. By the reaction I got I’m keeping the name! Big Grin! Here goes, pay attention it’s really difficult!

Peanut Butter Plop Brownies
Adapted from Dorothy at Crazy for Crust

Batter:
3 Cups Thrive Fudge Brownie Mix
½ Cup Boiling water

Mix and let sit 10 minutes.

Filling:
½ Cup Peanut Butter
½ Cup Sugar
½ Thrive Egg, reconstituted (yes you CAN do that with Thrive Whole Egg Powder)

Mix.

I lined a 9x9 pan with parchment paper. I use parchment paper a lot! Make small balls, or plops, out of the PB mixture and place in your pan so that you will have 16 brownies with a delightful treat in the middle of each.

Pour the Brownie Batter over the plops.

Then bake for 22 minutes. Cool for as long as you can make yourself wait. I usually have one very very warm, and one cooled.

Wow what a 4th of July Holiday!

It is always wonderful when you get to spend time with family and friends, relaxing, enjoying each others company, reconnecting AND eating!  OK, that's one of my favorite parts, helping with food and tasting new creations as well as old tried and true.

This year I was able to share new recipes using our Thrive products.  We had Taco Scoops, Corn & Bean Salsa, Pineapple Mango Salsa, Cheese Quesadillas, BBQ Chicken Pizza Roll-ups, Sloppy Joes, Potato Salad, Pea Pesto on crostini, Brownie S'mores ... it was GREAT to be able to do all these things so EASY while out camping! No need to worry about refrigeration, or what if we don't use it all, will it go to waste before we make it back home?

I you are interested in recipes just ask as I'm not sure how quickly I will get them added here.

One thing I was asked by many was how do we (independent consultants) compared to Discount Retail Store prices. Shelf Reliance is great about this.  Costco is where Shelf Reliance got a good start in nation wide recognition for their Rotation Shelves.  This is great as then the company name and products are well know. While you may be able to find some our our products at some discount store locations or other retail outlets, Shelf Reliance will always let the independent consultants know what they are and makes sure our selling price, which includes the price of shipping, will ALWAYS be lower . If we find somehow the pricing list we have is NOT lower, we just call the office and they make the correction.  What I've found are the "packages" are fine, but you can certainly put your own "package" together, with YOUR preferences and purchase "all at once" or "pay as you go".

I hope many of you were able to take advantage of the holiday sales and stock up Your Home Store.

I just bought my 250 gallon Super Tanker water container and now have it in place.  That was one of my goals to have in place by June 30th.  DONE!

The July Q's will have a "gift" included! Excited as I've never received a Q gift before.  What is it???

Speaking of the monthly Q ... we having a special promotion just check the tab at the top of the page. This will help you get started with your Q.
